BLASTX search (translated nucleotide versus protein) against single strain protein database

This tools translates an input nucleotide sequence and searches a database of protein sequences belonging to a single strain.

BLASTX searches take hundreds of times longer to run than BLASTN searches. This amounts to 10 or more minutes (per sequence) to search all protein sequences in this database.

If you would like to search broader taxonomic groups, including ALL proteins in this database, please consider using our DIAMOND BLASTX submission tool, which is significantly faster than BLASTP, yet very sensitive.
